Lenten Studies

Three separate studies are available for all.   

 On the Road to the Cross, Rob Burkhart, 7:00 am - 8:00 am and 12:00 - 1:00 on Wednesdays beginning March 1, Room 206  Leader:  Diane Smith.  This take you on a journey with little known people who spent time with Jesus on his days on earth.  Simon the Leper, Malchus, the Centurion at the cross, Cleopas, Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, Barabbas, Simon of Cyrene, and Mary Magdalene offer a unique perspective on one of the greatest events in human history.

Sanctuary of the Soul,  Richard Foster , 9:45 - 10:45 Sundays beginning March 5  Leader:  Sylvia Wang and Jeff Pehl. (Room TBA)This study will guide you in this transformational way, that you might come to know deeper fellowship with God. Weaving together quotes and stories from the lives of mothers and fathers of the faith as well as powerful encounters with God from his own life, Foster describes the riches of quieting your mind and heart in order to listen to and obey God more closely. 

 

A Way Other Than Our Own,  Walter Brueggeman, 9:45 - 10:45 Sunday beginning March 5, Parlor  Young Adult Study lead by Joe Mohr. Despite our culture of self-indulgence, we too are called to walk an alternative path - one of humility, justice, and peace. Walter Brueggemann's thought-provoking reflections for teh season of Lent invite us to consider the challenging, beautiful life that comes with walking the way of grace.
