Children's Handbells

When children reach second grade they are eligible to participate in the handbell program.  There are two choirs for students in 2nd through 5th grade.  The Angel Ringers is for children who are in 2nd/3rd grades and/or brand new to handbell ringing.  Students learn how to properly hold and ring a handbell, how to read handbell music, and the basics of working together as an instrumental ensemble.  Once concepts are mastered the Angel Ringers share what they have learned by contributing to the worship services.

The Clarendon Ringers are students in 4th/5th grades and/or who already have a fundamental grasp of handbell ringing.  Skills are further developed and repertoire becomes more advanced with a focus on composers, hymn tunes and a wide variety of handbell techniques.  This ensemble contributes regularly to worship and has a lot of fun!

Both ensembles rehearse weekly immediately prior to Children's Choir rehearsal on Tuesdays from 5:00pm-5:40pm.  Contact Lisa Gibbs-Smith, Director of Worship Arts, for more information.
