Women's Study Groups

Clarendon UMC has several small groups dedicated to spiritual growth for women through Bible study and fellowship.  These intergenerational groups are open to all women in the church. For more information contact the church office at (703) 527-8574.

Women's Study - Fear of the Other

In this no non-sense book, reliable spiritual guide, Will Willimon, invites readers to consider the gospel command to love (and not merely tolerate) those considered to be “Other” or outside mainstream Christian culture. Rooted in the faith of Israel and the Christian story and vision, Willimon brings a Wesleyan perspective to bear on what may be the hardest thing for people of faith to do: keeping and loving the "Other" as they are - without any need for them to become like us.  Sessions are being held in the church library (2nd floor) from 7:00-8:30pm on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, May 17
  • Wednesay, May 24
  • Thursday, June 1
  • Thursday, June 8
  • Thursday, June 15

Contact Lisa Gibbs-Smith, Director of Worship Arts, for more information (directorworshiparts@gmail.com).

Women's Monday Bible Study

A women's weekly Bible Study meets on Mondays from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon.  They began a new study in January on "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. This intergenerational group of women welcomes all new comers.    For more information, contact Jane Dixon at jdixon580jd@gmail.com.
