Fran heard the call to church music leadership as a volunteer handbell director many years ago. Since, she has earned a certificate and a Masters of Music in church music from Shenandoah University, focusing on conducting and joined the staff at Clarendon UMC in 2014. 

Fran is an active member of Handbell Musicians of America and of Virginia Bronze, an auditioned community handbell ensemble. She is a United Methodist Certified Lay Speaker and has a passion for the reconciling ministry at Clarendon UMC. Fran serves on the Capital UMC Pride Steering Committee which organizes local United Methodist participation in the annual DC Pride Parade and on the board of Parents Reconciling Ministries (PRN), a ministry partner of Reconciling Ministries Network, serving parents of LGBTQI+ children. 

Fran is married to Richard and they have two adult children.
